New Delhi, 24 August (APAC Media): The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), has joined hands with Cultus Education and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to launch a nationwide cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) skilling initiative.

The programme aims to equip 150,000 learners with foundational cloud and AI skills while providing intensive, job-oriented training to 10,000 participants through the AWS re/Start programme.

The initiative will be delivered entirely online through Cultus Education and will cover all states and Union Territories. It will particularly focus on young people in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and underserved communities, helping them access globally relevant technology training without relocating to major metropolitan centres.

Pathway from Digital Learning to Employment

Learners will begin their journey with AWS digital training content, enabling them to build foundational knowledge of cloud computing and AI at their own pace. Participants who demonstrate readiness will have the opportunity to progress to AWS re/Start, a free, cohort-based workforce development programme designed to prepare individuals for cloud careers.

The instructor-led programme will cover areas such as cloud infrastructure, networking, security, programming, relational databases, and AI fundamentals. Through hands-on labs, real-world scenarios, coursework, and mentorship from professional instructors, participants will develop practical skills aligned with industry requirements.

Graduates will have the opportunity to earn an AWS Certification, an industry-recognised credential validating cloud computing capabilities. They will also gain access to qualified interview opportunities through connections with local employers.

Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, said the “initiative reflects the vision of Viksit Bharat by ensuring that access to opportunities is not determined by geography or background.”
