New Delhi: Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder and chairman of Ola, unveiled India’s own artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, ‘Krutrim AI,’ aiming to compete with industry giants like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.
The AI chatbot is now available in public beta, with Aggarwal announcing the rollout on social media. He expressed that this marks the beginning of a journey, emphasising the continuous improvement and evolution of the product based on user feedback.
Krutrim AI supports over 10 Indian languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, and Hinglish (a mixture of Hindi and English). Aggarwal highlighted the significance of this launch, stating it signals a new era in AI computing for the nation.
The launch follows Krutrim’s rapid ascent to becoming India’s fastest unicorn and the country’s first AI unicorn, securing $50 million in its initial funding round. Investors, led by Matrix Partners India, valued the company at $1 billion.
