Agra: India is deploying an anti-drone system in the Taj Mahal in Agra in light of the current India-Pakistan skirmishes.
This is of particular significance as Pakistan attempted to target Amritsar’s Golden Temple on the intervening night of 7-8 May. But the Indian Air Defence system neutralised all the drone attacks that occurred in the border areas.
This anti-drone system at the Taj Mahal will be activated across an area of eight km. It could deactivate and defuse all drones from a distance of 200m.
Currently, the UP Police and CISF are jointly responsible for the security of the Taj Mahal. But a new security team will be set up to run this anti-drone system.
This special security team will be trained on all aspects of managing this anti-drone system. From identifying a drone to deactivating it and bringing it down, this security team will be involved in all phases.
It is understood that the system can jam signals of all types of drones so that they lose all their effectiveness.
The system is also capable of deactivating drones 200 m from the main dome of the Taj Mahal. It will be installed within the next few days.
