New Delhi: Dr Adapa Karthik IAS is soon set to join the World Health Organisation, South-East Asia Regional Office (SEARO), as their Regional Adviser, Digital Health (P-5). He was granted permission, post the Punjab government’s proposal to the Central government.
Dr. Karthik is from the 2008-batch, Dr. Karthik’s new role in the WHO is in agreement to rule 6 (2) of the IAS cadre Rules,1954, thereby receiving approval. The Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) issued an order which indicated that his tenure will last for two years.
From the Punjab cadre, Dr. Karthik was the topper of UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2007. He hails from Andhra Pradesh and is a trained doctor. Prior to this appointment, he was posted as the Special Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Punjab.
