New Delhi, July 13 (APAC Media): The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Arvind Kumar, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), for appointment as Director (Consumer Mobility) on the Board of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
The recommendation was made during a PESB meeting after the board interviewed seven candidates for the Schedule ‘A’ board-level position.
The recommendation will now be forwarded for the necessary approvals from the Government of India before the appointment is formally notified.
The Director (Consumer Mobility) is a key board-level position responsible for overseeing BSNL’s consumer mobility business, enhancing service delivery, and driving growth in the company’s mobile services segment.
Arvind Kumar currently heads STPI, an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). During his tenure, he has played a significant role in strengthening India’s technology ecosystem by promoting IT exports, supporting innovation, and fostering the startup ecosystem.
His extensive experience in the technology and digital sectors is expected to contribute to BSNL’s ongoing digital transformation and consumer-centric initiatives.
