New Delhi, August 24 (APAC Media): GAIL (India) Limited has appointed Rupa Saikia as an Independent Director on its Board, bringing experience in education, human resource management, and community development to the Maharatna PSU.
GAIL disclosed the appointment in a regulatory filing dated August 23, 2026, submitted to the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE Limited.
Saikia holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree and has more than 14 years of experience in education and human resource management. She has also been involved in social service and community development initiatives.
She has served as Secretary of the Golaghat Zila Lekhika Samaroh in Assam, where she was involved in organisational and administrative activities.
Following her appointment, GAIL updated the composition of its Board of Directors.
The company said Saikia has no inter-se relationship with any existing GAIL director and is not debarred from holding the position by SEBI, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs or any other statutory authority.
The appointment was disclosed under the applicable provisions of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.
GAIL (India) Limited is a Maharatna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The company operates across natural gas transmission and marketing, LPG, liquid hydrocarbons, petrochemicals and other energy-related businesses.
