New Delhi: Suzlon Energy has hired Khaitan & Company to investigate its corporate governance standards. Gautam Doshi, Chairman of Suzlon’s Audit Committee, would be responsible for reviewing comments on the Company’s corporate governance standards.
Suzlon stated in the exchange notification that additional advisors may be engaged as needed to assist with the process. Suzlon reiterated its commitment to the highest standards of corporate governance, stating that the exercise will identify any shortcomings in current corporate governance policies and methods to reinforce them. Earlier this week, Suzlon’s Independent Director Marc Desaedeleer quit on concerns about communication and transparency in the company’s governance.
The corporation stated that the departure was not due to any financial or operational issues and promised to work on the areas of concern.
