New Delhi, August 12(APAC Media): Oracle is reportedly planning another round of job cuts this month. The company has asked managers to identify employees who could be affected by the layoffs, according to a Business Insider report. The cuts could take place before Oracle’s second fiscal quarter starts on September 1. Some teams could see their workforce reduced by double-digit percentages.
Oracle Layoffs 2026
The reported layoffs come after Oracle cut around 21,000 jobs in fiscal 2026. The cuts reduced its workforce by about 13%, leaving the company with nearly 141,000 employees, according to the report. Oracle is now facing another workforce reduction while increasing spending on artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure.
Oracle AI Investment
Oracle spent heavily on AI infrastructure during fiscal 2026 as demand for cloud computing increased. The company has also raised billions of dollars through debt and equity to support its expansion in cloud and AI infrastructure.
The company said its cloud infrastructure revenue grew 77% to $18.1 billion in fiscal 2026. At the same time, Oracle has been working to control costs as it expands its AI business. The reported job cuts show the pressure technology companies are facing as they increase spending on AI while trying to keep their overall costs under control. Oracle has not publicly confirmed the latest reported layoffs.
